WOYWW & A Crafty Trip Out (with PARTY BAGS!)

How quick a week goes!
I wanted to post what's on my desk, something I've just finished this week. I made a mini book each for my friends and I that started a book club about 18 months ago. We've read about 26 books and I managed to find thumb nail prints (from Amazon) for each book as well as a short synopsis of each book we read. Each page was embellished with stamps, flowers, embellishments, tags hidden pockets etc. (Too many photo's too show!) We have read some great books (& some RUBBISH ones!!) The great thing about a Book Club is that you take it in turns to choose the book and you find that you are being introduced to books that you yourself would NEVER have picked up!) It's great fun - we meet for lunch once a month - spend 10 minutes talking about the book and the rest of the time just catching up and having a good laugh together. You don't even get kicked out if you haven't had time to read the book!!! (I could never say "Sorry, I preferred crafting to that book we chose! - normally, the excuse would be, I was on the waiting list at the library and by the time I got the call to say it was in - I only had 3 days to read it !!)
Also - yesterday I went out with my scrapping friends to the Craft Barn in Lingfield. 7 of us went together and we decided to each spend £10 on some items that we could then split between the 7 of us as "surprise" goody bags. Look what i came away with - it was so exciting when I got back to see the different array of goodies we had all bought. It was so much fun! (Oh, as you can imagine we all spent a lot more than £10 today - the remainder was to add to our own stash!!!)

Hi Cupcake! So many good ideas in just one post. I'm toying with the idea of a book club but not sure when I'd fit the reading in - I seem to spend every spare sec crafting (or catching up on blog reading!) Anyway, loved the idea of the album, and the goody bag one, too! I'm just going to read some more of your great posts and will pop over again soon. Happy WOYWW x

2 Lovely ideas here. The book club sounds fun as does the £10 goodie bags. Monkey has just called out to say he has brewed a nice cuppa so I'm of to have tea and a nice doughnut. hugs Mrs A. #57

Both the mini book and the goodie bag ideas are brilliant, I don't think any of us have any willpower when it comes to limited spending in craft shops. Thanks for stopping by my blog too x

What a great idea - the mini book gifts for your fellow book club members - I bet they were a hit!
Your day out sounds lovely - and all that great stash too!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. You mentioned the tin on my desk - I'm not sure whether it's a Hollie Hobby or Betsy Clark - the caption reads 'Miss Petticoat' and I must have had it over 25 years - so the pegs inside it are probably that old too - lol.

Both ideas are brilliant, the albums for the book club are lovely and must have been hard work putting together and the idea of splitting stash amongst you is great as you never use an entire packet of anything!! Annette #5

Yeah girls rock, like you say great to make girlie things.
I eat the Oxo cubes (only beef) "neat" but washed down with a glass of milk or orange squash - so specific!

Rebecca,
Thanks for stopping by on Wednesday! I love your comment "I'm a lark, you're obviously a night owl!" I would love to spend the day crafting, but the day job is a necessity (gotta support the habit!) and I enjoy spending time with my kiddos. :)

Late night is all I have!

What a great idea to share with friends! I love surprises!

Have a fab weekend!

Great story, do you think its possible for ANYONE to go into a craft shop and only spend £10? Sounds like an urban myth to me, :)
